Az előbbi konferencia arra kereste a választ, hogy a vesztes háború, majd a békeszerződés és annak nyomán a terület- és lakosságveszteség milyen módon gyakorolt hatást a történetírásra és az ahhoz kapcsolódó intézményrendszerre a párizsi békekonferenciától egészen a Kádár-korig. Az utóbbi tanácskozás középpontjában a két világháború közötti, tág értelemben vett politikai gondolkodás állt. Jelen kötetben az e két konferencián elhangzott előadások tanulmánnyá formált változataiból közlünk válogatást. Könyvünk három nagy fejezetre bomlik: az első lényegében a történetírással foglalkozik, részben eszmetörténeti és historiográfiai, részben intézménytörténeti oldalról; a második a politikai
