A 9–12. századi Kárpát-medencében több esetben van ismeretünk fegyverek, kiváltképp kardok feliratozásáról. A térségben leggyakrabban előforduló Ingel-tövű feliratvariánsok mellett különféle szövegek, betűkombinációk és betűszerű jelek jelenlétével is számolhatunk. Jelen tanulmány e fegyverfeliratok rövid áttekintésére vállalkozik. Weapon inscriptions in Latin characters from the 9th-12thcentury Carpathian Basin. In the history of arms and armours, the study of various symbols, inscriptions or trademarks has great importance both in determining the provenance and the development of weapons. Several weapon inscriptions – found usually on swords – are known from the 9th–12th century Carpathian Basin. In addition to the prevalent Ingel-variants, we can expect the presence of various texts, letter combinations and letter-like characters in the region.
