which their sophisticated information processing can change depending on the rapidly changing demands of cognitive processes like selective attention. Despite extensive evidence for task-dependent adjustments of neuronal processing, the mechanisms underlying flexible and detailed changes in network function are not well understood. A potentially general and powerful possibility is to dynamically adjust the pattern of effective connectivities within cerebral networks by modulating oscillatory synchronization in the g-band to change the routing of signals and information.
