A Magyarországon és Nagy-Britanniában is oktató és kutató Michael Stewart alapította 2011-ben az általa MyStreetnek nevezett részvételi videós moz-galmat a University College of London felsőoktatási intézményben, és elméleti és történeti szempontból is megalapozta azt egy cikkében. Stewart vonatkozó tanulmányában a kisebb-ségi közösségek önábrázolásáról szólva a Deleuze-Guattari szerzőpáros által Kafka kapcsán bevezetett „kisebbségi irodalom” terminusra hivatkozik. Ennek mintájára született a „minor média” kifejezés: ezalatt a részvételi filmnek a kisebbségi közösségek önreprezentációjában betöltött szerepét értjük, és nem utolsósorban azt a hegemón hatalom képi világához képest alternatív képalkotást, amely e tevékenységben lehetőségként rejlik. One of the research projects of the Minor Media/Culture Research Centre founded at the Department of Media and Communication (ELTE University) is to reveal the history and to map the actual state of the participatory film in Hungary. Professor Michael Stewart, who has both taught and conducted research in Hungary and Great Britain for decades, founded the MyStreet participatory videomaking movement in 2011 at the University College of London and underpinned it theoretically and historically in one of his articles. In this paper, he examines the role of autoethnography in the self-representation of minority communities, and he refers to the term “minor literature,” coined by Deleuze-Guattari in their seminal work on Kafka. We adapted this term and coined the concept of “minor media,” by which we mean the role of participatory film in the self-representation of minority communities and its power to construct images as
