Resampling algorithms in online signature verification

      Nowadays the usage of digitalized signatures instead of the classical paper-based approach is more and more common. The main goal is to automatically decide whether an unknown signature is genuine, as accurately as possible. The continuous technological advancement increases the importance of online signature verification and the number of opportunities in this field. Despite this is an actively researched area, the different algorithms still need to be improved. For example, the portability of the results between different devices has to be solved. This paper investigates the effects of the sampling frequency on the accuracy of dynamic time warping (DTW) based online signature verifiers. The experimental results presented in this paper were evaluated on the SVC2004 database. These results can provide some guidance how it is worth to keep or modify the sampling rate.
