A kutatást Magyarországon, a Pest megyei régió egyik kisvárosában, 5 óvoda 2015–2016-os és 2016–2017-es nevelési évre vonatkozó dokumentumainak elemzésével folytattuk. A dokumentumokból kigyűjtött 171 mesét narratív elemzéssel vizsgáltuk. A vizsgált mesék közül 94 mese tartalmazott összesen 147 női karaktert, amelyekből kategóriákat alkottunk, azokat további axiális kódolást alkalmazva csoportosítottuk. Következtetésünk az, hogy a vizsgált körben mesélt mesék kizárólag hagyományos női szerepeket tartalmaztak, a nőiség mellérendelt, háttérszerepét közvetítették.
