This paper summarizes the results of the physical anthropological examination of the
middle and late Avar-period cemetery, excavated in 2003 at the site of Biatorbágy-Hosszúrétek.
Distributions of gender and age at death are described along with the morphometric
analysis, stature estimation, taxonomical description and the observations of the
anatomical variations, pathologies, and the dental status. The most important results
indicate the presence of the pure Mongoloid type individuals in such a high ratio
that the population origin definitely can be traced back to Central Asia.
