Diabetic retinopathy

Angol nyelvű Tudományos Könyvfejezet (Könyvrészlet)
Retinal damage, presented with diabetic retinopathy (DR) and macular edema (ME), is the most frequent complication of diabetes and a leading cause of impaired vision and blindness in working-age adults in the Western world. Yet, if the recommendations of ETDRS are followed with respect to the management of existing complications, the risk of severe visual loss is less then 5% (1). Unfortunately, a lot of patients who lose their vision do so, due to delay in seeking medical attention. © 2011 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.
