Macrofossil plant remains of the genera Cladophlebis Brongniart and Todites Seward are very common in the Mecsek Mountains (southern Hungary). They are represented by the following species: Cladophlebis haiburnensis (Lindley&Hutton) Brongniart, C. denticulata (Brongniart) Fontaine, C. roesserti (Schenk) Saporta, Todites goeppertianus (Münster) Krasser, and T. princeps (Presl) Gothan. The taxonomical investigation of these genera was preceded by the study of their morphological variability within both taxa. The present paper gives taxonomical description and palaeoecology of the fossil taxa from Hungary.
