Reports of some studies describe the determination of the occurrence of a photocatalytic reaction by identifying reactive oxygen species, but few reports describe studies that have undertaken direct quantitative measurement of their generated amounts (Konaka et al., 1999; Veréb et al., 2013). Conducting identification and quantitative determination of reactive oxygen species generated following a photocatalytic reaction must be regarded as indispensable from the viewpoint of its application to biomaterials.
