The supplementation of various probiotics has been shown to diversify and stabilize gastrointestinal microbiota [30], in addition to improving animal production and health [31]. However, the effectiveness of probiotics in animal studies varies greatly depending on the origin of the microbes [32]. Lactobacillus species, yeast species and spore-forming bacteria such as Bacillus species are the species used as probiotics [33].
