      <abstractText>In this article we consider the gamma-stabilization of nth-order linear time-invariant dynamical systems using multiplicity-induced-dominancy-based controller design in the presence of delays in the input or the output channels. A sufficient condition is given for the dominancy of a real root with multiplicity at least n+1 and at least n using an integral factorization of the corresponding characteristic function. A necessary condition for gamma-stabilizability is analyzed utilizing the property that the derivative of a gamma-stable quasipolynomial is also gamma-stable under certain conditions. Sufficient and necessary conditions are given for systems with real-rooted open-loop characteristic function: the delay intervals are determined where the conditions for dominancy and gamma-stabilizability are satisfied. The efficiency of the proposed controller design is shown in the case of a multilink inverted pendulum.</abstractText>

      <abstractText>In this paper, we consider the stabilization of &amp; nbsp;phi(t)-a(0)phi(t)=-k(p)phi(t-tau-delta(p))-k(d)phi(t-tau-delta(d))-k(a)phi(t-tau-delta(a)),&amp; nbsp;which describes the control of an &amp; nbsp;inverted pendulum &amp; nbsp;by detuned proportional-derivative-acceleration (PDA) feedback. We show that the system can be stabilized using an appropriate choice of the control parameters &amp; nbsp;k(p),&amp; nbsp;k(d),&amp; nbsp;k(a)&amp; nbsp;and &amp; nbsp;delta(p),&amp; nbsp;delta(d),&amp; nbsp;delta(a)&amp; nbsp;>= 0 &amp; nbsp;if &amp; nbsp;tau &amp; nbsp;is smaller than the critical delay &amp; nbsp;tau(crit)=root 6/a(0). This value is larger by a factor of &amp; nbsp;root 3 asymptotic to 1.73 &amp; nbsp;than the critical delay of the proportional-derivative (PD) feedback with a single delay.</abstractText>

      <abstractText>In the last few decades the advantages of fractional-order control was demonstrated with several examples in comparison with integer-order control. In this paper, stabilizability of a second-order unstable system subject to a delayed PD mu and (PDD rho)-D-mu controller is investigated in terms of the critical delay. Stabilizability diagrams are determined as a function of the order of the fractional derivatives. It is shown that the critical delay for the PD mu controller is larger by 12% than that of the PD1 (or simply proportional-derivative, PD) controller and the critical delay for the (PDD rho)-D-mu controller is larger by 3.8% than the critical delay of the (PDD2)-D-1 (or simply proportional-derivative-acceleration, PDA) controller.
